Your Progressive Democrat for County Commission
A community-rooted Camano Island organizer who lives here, works here, and is fighting for the people who are struggling to stay here.
Hi, I’m Satin Arnett.
I’m running for Island County Commissioner because I see a gap between the decisions being made and the people those decisions impact. Through my work in grassroots organizing, nonprofit leadership, and local political engagement, I’ve seen what happens when systems are built without the voices of the people they’re meant to serve. I’ve worked alongside individuals and families navigating systems that were never designed with them in mind, and I’ve seen too many important decisions made without full community representation.
I’m running because I believe Island County can do better. We can build systems that include people from the start, not as an afterthought, but as true partners in shaping our future. I’m not running to simply claim a seat at the table. I’m running to build a bigger table, one where our entire community is represented, heard, and empowered. That’s the kind of leadership I believe Island County is ready for.

Island County needs leaders who understand budgets, services, schools, housing pressures, and above all, the real-life challenges people are facing. Satin’s priorities include helping people stay in the communities they helped build, practicing fiscal responsibility that plans for the future, and making county government easier for residents to navigate.
I trust Satin because I have seen her do the work, not just show up for photo ops. She is prepared, grounded, and genuinely committed to serving people.
